Masterfully created, written, and illustrated by Kaitlyn Elizabeth Riddle, M.Ed., this wildly imaginative children’s book series was born from a deeply personal mission to bring premium literature into intentional homes, classrooms, children’s hospitals and in the hands of every child worldwide.
To bring this vision to life at the highest standard, Ms. Riddle founded and created AMELIUS MEDIA, an independent publishing house dedicated to cultivating literature that bridges the gap between academic readiness and emotional growth. Under her stewardship, this boutique imprint elevates corporate-grade branding and elite educational strategy to deliver timeless, heart-centered children's literature to the global stage.
Compelled by her multi-dimensional life experiences, Ms. Riddle designed this universe to give young readers and their caregivers the vital tools they need to navigate big feelings, build deep self-awareness, and step away from screens to connect through the power of co-regulation. Raised in Berkeley, California, her unique background includes six years of K-12 teaching experience and a Master’s in Education dedicated to studying the benefits of implementing mindfulness practice and Social Emotional Learning (SEL) in general education and special education (Mild to Moderate and Moderate to Severe) classroom settings.
An inductee and active member of Phi Beta Kappa, the oldest and most prestigious honors society in the United States, Kaitlyn balances her deep grounding in educational psychology with over 12 consecutive years of professional experience as a senior global digital marketing strategy and AI marketing solutions leader for Silicon Valley enterprise cybersecurity, SaaS and Information Technology ecosystems including Intertrust Technologies, Symantec Corporation and Infoblox.
Her holistic approach to children's literature and children's mental wellness is further informed by rigorous Hot 8 Yoga Sculpt Teacher Training and intensive study alongside leading Bay Area mindfulness practitioners. Yet, of all her roles, her absolute favorite inspiration comes from being a proud auntie—a perspective that infuses every page with warmth, joy, and deep emotional resonance.
OUR BRAND STORY - AMELIUS THE WINGED FOX
Kaitlyn Elizabeth Riddle, M.Ed., has finds her happiest place in the pages of Sir Philip Pullman’s His Dark Materials and Book of Dust series.
Lyra, the protagonist and hero in both series, was born and has a dæmon, as does everyone in her world. A dæmon is an outward form of their inner soul.
When Kaitlyn used the series’ companion app, her own dæmon was revealed, and he was - and is - truly magnificent: a handsome, loyal fox named Amelius.
Amelius quickly became much more than a character; he is Kaitlyn’s soul, her creative guide, and the heart of AMELIUS MEDIA. Through Amelius the winged fox, Kaitlyn brings mindful, magical stories to life for readers everywhere.
